Tills construction was done by the Company’s Engineering De partment under supervision of E. I*. Ijaughridge, I’lant Engineer. Schilkowsky Begins Control Dept At Caromount Carl Schilkowsky has been ap pointed manager of the Technical Control Department, which has begun operation in its new loca tion at the Caromount plant. VIr. Schilkowsky, a graduate of Harvard, began his employment with the Shelton division in July, 1936, in the printing department, lie also worked in the chemistry uid dye laboratory. From 1942 to 1946 Schilkow- -ky was serving in the V. S. Army Medical Corps in the medical lab oratory. He was in New Guinea 20 months. When he left the \rmy he returned to this com pany as a chemist in the Shelton Research Department in Febru ary, 1946, where he remained until his promotion to Manager of Control Department and trans fer to the Caromount Division. Mr. Schilkowsky has been a ‘iiemher of the American Associa- Oon of textile Chemists and (iol- >iists. having served as Vice Chairman of the westcin New Fngland section of this a^socia- lion. Schilkowsky is a tiative of Shcl- 9'n. Connecticut. Flans are be ing completed for Mrs. Schilkow- 'ky and their son, (..arl, Jr., to establish their residence in Rocky Vlount at an early date. Mrs. Schilkowsky is a native of Bryson City, N. C. Frank Felteis has transferred b> (iaromount to conduft iV' thought provoking lating to the need for sample dyeing in the Control Department. Mr. Belters is an uncle of FI. W. Rotters of Caro mount, Dyeing Dept. He began his employment with the Com pany in A[)ril, 191.3, as a dyer. He is a member of the Shelton Looms Service Club. In 1923 Belters transferred to the Design Department of the Shelton Division as sample dyer. Since that lime he has been re sponsible for the development of new' colors for all our fabrics and he is recognized for his outstand ing contribution to this [ihase of our (Company operations. Frank Lovshin has moved south with the Control Department as its Fleclrical Engineer.
